Prof. Dr. Tharek Abd Rahman is a Professor at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He obtained his BSc. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from University of Strathclyde UK in 1979, MSc in Communication Engineering from UMIST Manchester UK and PhD in Mobile Radio Communication Engineering from University of Bristol, UK in 1988. He is the Director of Wireless Communication Centre (WCC), UTM. His research interests are radio propagation, antenna and RF design and indoors and outdoors wireless communication. He has also conducted various short courses related to mobile and satellite communication to the Telecommunication Industry and Government body since 1990. He has a teaching experience in the area of mobile radio, wireless communication system and satellite communication. He has published more than 120 papers related to wireless communication in national/international journal and conference

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Razali Ngah obtained his Bachelor in Electrical Engineering (Communication) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Skudai in 1989, MSc in RF Communication Engineering from University of Bradford, UK in 1996 and PhD in Photonics from University of Northumbria, UK in 2005. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at Wireless Communication Centre (WCC), Faculty of Electrical Engineering, UTM Skudai. His research interests are mobile radio propagation, antenna and RF design, photonics network, wireless communication systems and radio over fibre (RoF).

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jafri bin Din received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Tri-State University, Indiana, USA in 1988 and his Ph.D. from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor, Malaysia in 1997. He has been Head of Departments, Undergraduate Academic Manager and Deputy Dean (Development) in Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FKE), UTM from 2008 till 2015. He is currently the Deputy Director of Wireless communication Centre at UTM. His research activities have been correlated to the fields of radio wave propagation, satellite propagation, High Altitude Platform Station (HAPS), satellite TV broadcasting, Weather Radar and sound techniques for fisheries industry.

Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Sharul Kamal Abdul Rahim is a senior member of Wireless Communication Centre. After obtaining his first degree from University of Tennessee, USA majoring in Electrical Engineering, he spent 3 years in industry. He joined UTM in 2001 after graduating with MSc in Engineering (Communication Engineering) from UniversitiTeknologi Malaysia (UTM).He graduated with PhD in Wireless Communication System from University of Birmingham, UK in 2007.His research interest is onAntenna Design, Smart Antenna System, Beamforming Network and microwave devices for 5th Generation (5G) mobile communication.He has published over200 learned papersincluding an IEEE magazine article, IEEE Transaction and IEEE Letter on Antenna and Propagation and taken various patents. He is also a Senior Member of IEEE Malaysia Section, Member of Institute of Engineer Malaysia (MIEM), Professional Engineer (PE) and Eta Kappa Nu Chapter (International Electrical Engineering Honour Society, University of Tennessee). Currently, he is also an Executive Committee of IEM Southern Branch.

Dr. Norhudah Seman received her B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering (Telecommunications) degree from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Johor, Malaysia, in 2003 and MEng. degree in RF/Microwave Communications from the University of Queensland, Brisbane, St. Lucia, Queensland., Australia, in 2005. In September 2009, she completed her PhD. degree at The University of Queensland. In 2003, she was an Engineer with Motorola Technology, Penang, Malaysia, where she was involved with RF and microwave components design and testing. Currently, she is a lecturer in Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. She had published 2 book chapters in a book of “Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technologies” and written about 16 technical articles of international journals and conference papers. Her research interests concern the design of microwave circuits for biomedical and industrial applications, UWB technologies, and mobile communications.

Dr. Mohd Haizal Jamaluddin was born in Selangor, Malaysia. He received his Bachelor degree and Master degree in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia in 2003 and 2006, respectively. He received the Doctoral degree in Signal Processing and Telecommunications from the University of Rennes 1, Rennes, France in 2010. He is currently a senior lecturer in the faculty and a member of the Wireless Communication Centre (WCC), UTM. His main field of interest is on antenna design especially on dielectric resonator antenna (DRA), MIMO DRA,  reflect array antenna and lens antenna.

Dr. Leow Chee Yen obtained his B.Eng. degree in Computer Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2007. Since July 2007, he has been anacademic staff in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, UTM. Recently, he obtained a PhD. degree from Imperial College London with a thesis entitled “Wireless Transmission Protocols Using Relays for Broadcast and Information Exchange Channels”. He is currently a senior lecturer in the faculty and a member of the Wireless Communication Centre (WCC), UTM. His research interest includes but not limited to wireless relaying, MIMO, linear precoding, multi-user networks, physical layer security, convex optimisation and communications theory.

Marwan Hadri Azmi received the B.Eng. (Hons Class I) degree in electrical and telecommunications from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2003, the M.Sc. degree in communications and signal processing from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, University of London in 2005, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia, in 2012. He is currently a senior lecturer at Wireless Communication Centre, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. From 2012 to 2014, he spent his Sabbatical leave of absence at the McGill University, Canada, working in the funded project by RIM Inc. and NSERC, entitled “Cooperative Spectrum Sensing and Information Relaying in Cognitive Wireless Communications”. His research interests include mobile and wireless communications, communication theory, error control coding, relay networks, spectrum sensing for cognitive radio, and iterative receiver.

Omar Abdul Aziz received his first degree in 2006 from Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Malaysia in the field of Electrical & Electronics Engineering. He was a Research Assistant and later appointed Tutor in Wireless Communication Centre (WCC). In 2009, he received his Master Degree in Electrical-Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Currently, he is pursuing Ph.D degree in UTM. His research interests are antenna design and microwave propagation.

Tien Han Chua received both the B.Sc. (Honours) degree in Electrical engineering (First Class) and the Master of Electrical Engineering in Wireless Engineering from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2003 and 2007, respectively. Tien Han was a Tutor (2005-2007) and then a Lecturer (2007-present) at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He is currently on a 3-year study leave to pursue a Ph.D degree at the Computer Laboratory, University of Cambridge. His research interests include broadband fixed wireless access systems, radio propagation, channel modelling and measurement.
