4th April 2018: – Keysight Technologies Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and Tekmark Sdn. Bhd., which is the authorised dealer for Keysight Technologies products in Malaysia had inked an agreement with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) to conduct research partnership in studying millimetre wave propagation in tropical surroundings. With shared interest in examining the impact of operating at multigigahertz frequency bands for future wireless communication system, a UTM-Keysight fifth generation (5G) Propagation Laboratory has been set up in WCC under this research joint venture. The laboratory is equipped with a custom-made mobile lab on wheels that accommodates Malaysia’s first 5G millimetre wave channel sounder by Keysight Technologies.
This multi-million Ringgit research and development (R&D) facility is jointly funded by Keysight Technologies, UTM and the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) Malaysia. Being the sole recognised national Higher Institution Centre of Excellence (HICoE) in the niche research area of 5G wireless technology, WCC has been in the forefront on conducting cutting-edge research works with the support of industries and government.
